EPG (TV guide) setup

The TV guide (EPG) normally comes from your provider: the playlist names an XMLTV file (url-tvg in M3U), or the provider’s API sends it (Xtream Codes, Stalker portals). You only need to set something up when the guide is missing or incomplete.

Check what loads

Open Settings > EPG teleguide > Reload EPG teleguide…. The report shows how many programmes loaded, how many channels have a guide, the sources used and the date the guide reaches (Guide until). Sources are grouped as From provider, Added by you and Built-in, each with its result, for example:

EPG teleguide is hidden in Simplified mode: switch the level in Settings > Extended settings > User experience level.

Add a guide your provider gives you

If your provider has a guide link but the playlist does not name it, add it to the provider: Settings > Provider, select the provider, Provider properties, then EPG source 1 in the EPG teleguide part.

A source added here is matched to the channels of this provider by tvg-id and by channel name, so it matches best. The link may contain placeholders that the app fills in from the provider’s settings: ${token} (also {KEY}), ${login}, ${password}.

Several EPG sources per provider need premium. Disable provider EPG sources, using user-provided only there switches off the guide the provider sends by itself.

Add a general guide

Settings > EPG teleguide > User-provided EPG sources (xml, xml.gz) takes XMLTV links for all providers. Append user-provided source adds one (several sources need premium). Select a source to disable, rename, edit or delete it.

Such sources are matched by channel name only, because their ids are not those of your provider. If a source is made for your provider, add it to the provider instead (above).

Other options

In Settings > EPG teleguide (some only in Expert mode):

Wrong times in the guide: TV guide shows the wrong time.
